The idea of a self induced "high", is largely associated with the desire to escape reality. A reality that is filled with depression, desire, and desperation. A reality which many people, often on a regular basis, chose to escape through their individual poison of choice. The reason for this escape is tied to each individual. The end goal of complete euphoria, and mentally being exactly where you strive to be, being accomplished all the time throughout life, is the ideal utopia for an individual. Utopian societies can only be perfect in the eyes of the individual. Each individuals idea of the perfect existence, is the only important way to create a utopia for that individual. A utopia could never exist on a universal scale.

The laws of physics make it impossible to create a universal Utopia. For every action, there must be a reaction, and the aw of the conservation of energy. If there were never the need for reactions, and if there was no limit on the amount of energy in the universe, then a Utopia could exist. If the feeling of being completely euphoric, constantly, without any effort, would only be able to benefit one single person, while if it were possible to break these laws, the entire universe would be able to benefit from this.

The end goal of the perfect Utopia possibly achievable in an individuals lifetime, would mean reaching a point where the entire rest of the world works to make sure that every single life process happens by its self. Nothing at all is expected of the individual. Thats what would be the perfect utopia.

Thats how it should be. That's why people do drugs. Because they're not feeling complete satisfaction with where they are now, so they chose to escape what would be their reality. Where as in a utopia, there would be no reason to ever want to escape reality, because that reality would be the absolute perfect place for anybody to ever want to feel.

Twin Oaks is it a Utopia or Sham???

Twins Oaks is a community in Virginia that is considered a utopia because of how the community lives by their own set of rules. Their rules have similarities to what we picture as the perfect world. In Twin Oaks, you don’t see crime because the existence of poverty has been eliminated. “That’s great!” you say, “No poverty, pack your bags we’re going to Virginia”. Hold the phone you, eager optimist. Let me tell you about some more of the positives and then the not so positive. Twin Oaks, Virginia So, let’s get through the positives, Twin Oaks has a government that rotates consistently so the likelihood of a politician being corrupt is lowered. Twin Oaks has a stable economy because they are not completely reliant on the United States economy. God killed a Utopia?! Can a Utopia happen with everyone on Earth?

Noah's Arc with all the animals     The story “Noah and the Ark” written by Jonathan Goldstein is a more comedic version of the biblical story Noah’s Ark. Goldstein depicts Noah as a disgruntled old man who verbally and physically abuses his three sons. He used this form of tough love to prepare them for the righteousness and hardships that life had for them. The world has changed for the worse in Noah's eyes. He does things the old-fashioned way, and he believes that people should endure hard labor, while the youth today have become lackadaisical. He found the new generation to be lazy because they only worked two days a week and he thought the way they lived was “ass-backwards and off the track” (Goldstein pg. 4).
