When Will We Get Hoverboards!!!!!!!???

Cars, planes, mp3 players (I'm not even sure if they still exist), and last but certainly not least, the one thing we cannot live without (or for a short period of time) is a creation from God himself, smartphones. These small computers that fit in our pockets have made our lives extremely easier and we rely on them a lot and I mean A LOT. How much do we rely on smartphones? Well I totally did not write this blog this morning on my phone

I did was not able to get them :(

These are not hoverboards!
Even with technology advancing rapidly, there are still some things we thought would exist by now but don't. Take Back To The Future II for an example. The protagonist travelled to the year 2015 and it was futuristic AF! They had all sorts of cool stuff like hoverboards, flying cars, and my personal favorite, air mags (self-lacing sneakers, how dope is that!). The only thing that was accurate from the movie was the air mags. Oh and also the cubs winning the 2016 world series (I should've bet money on that game). I am not saying that those things will not exist, they will but not for many more years to come. We do have "hoverboards" but they are just damn segways without the handle. Technology is all cool and stuff and I could write a three thousand word blog about it (I'm not saying this because of the word count) but I won't.

This is creepy
Let's focus more on the future and a book called Feed by M. T. Anderson. The book takes place many years from now and its technology would be considered alien to us. They travel to the moon for their spring break! "We went to the moon to have fun, but the moon turned out to completely suck" (Anderson, 3)  I'm lucky if I get out of New Jersey for spring break. Anyways, everything is so advanced that the way they communicate is a little similar to our way but in a much different action. Yes we communicate through our phones but we still talk to each other using our mouths. You might say "yeah no shit we talk with our mouths", well in the book, the characters do not communicate with their mouths or sign language.

Aside from messaging, this chip has all the function a smartphone has. This seems like a cool concept and it is, but if you knew what I knew, I would try to get rid of it. Yes it is a nifty machine but it has its consequences. What is the one thing we all fear with our computers, take a guess I'll give you three tries... What? Already giving up? Hmm well the thing we fear is getting hacked and also viruses. Those little shits are annoying and could harm your computer pretty bad and also get personal information from your computer. Now imagine this happening to you with the chip in your brain, it would not tickle would it? Besides from this, they do not know how to speak or write. I thought technology was supposed to help us improve our intelligence, not turn us into cavemen. Also, they constantly get advertisement from corporations.

Just like watching a video from
youtube but you have to watch those annoying ads, this happens  in the feed but worse. I have been talking about how bad it is but let's be honest, this technology could help us and it is pretty convenient as well. The Feed analyzes where you go and your taste for fashion or anything really to help you look for what you want.
I am not so sure  how  much privacy the Feed is but I can assume that the government is controlling all of it, just how they control and hide stuff from us today. There are some questions which we do not have an answer for but we do know that privacy is going to a point of extinction. Want to know something about someone? Simply look them up and you should be able to find them (and if you are a hacker, then you have the world on the palm of your hands). It is a pretty scary thing to think about but it is what it is. We have been living like this that we have gotten used to it. I guess this is where I finish my blog. What shall I talk about in my next blog? Well that is to be determined but I have some ideas in mind.
